Meet Dr. Han

Dr. Unae K. Han, DMD, MPH, MS, attended Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine and was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon. She also earned a Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. She then completed a three-year residency at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where she earned a Master of Science and a Certificate in Orthodontics.

Dr. Han enjoys teaching as a clinical assistant professor for the postdoctoral Orthodontic program at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She has been awarded the Everett Shapiro Award for Excellence in Diagnosis and Treatment Planning by the graduating residents. Dr. Han also is a volunteering provider for Smiles Change Lives (SCL), a non-profit organization providing access to medically necessary orthodontic treatment for children from low-income families.

Dr. Han is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, and West Metropolitan Study Club. She serves as the secretary of the Multiloop Edgewise Archwire Technique and Research Foundation. Dr. Han was a speaker during a recent Annual Session of the American Association of Orthodontists and lectured on the topic of “Updates on Multiloop Edgewise Archwire (MEAW) Therapy: A Nonsurgical Treatment of Severe Open Bite Malocclusion.”

Weston Orthodontic Associates, Inc. was established by the late Dr. Young H. Kim in 1973. Over the years, it has developed a reputation for providing high-quality orthodontic treatment for adults and children. Dr. Kim was the inventor of the Multiloop Edgewise Archwire (MEAW) technique which is used by orthodontists worldwide to treat severe malocclusions without surgical intervention. Dr. Kim and Dr. Han collaborated for many years.
